Welcome to my metanarrative. I am both an abstract philosophy and a real person and I have a story to tell. Some of the things I’ve been through may be hard to believe or maybe you’ve been through something similar. Either way, I think people should know what I’ve figured out. I can’t force anyone to do anything but I can present you with my life and hopefully you can learn from it.

I’ll start at the end and then loop back around. This story has many different parts to it and I’ll try to explain it in all its complexity chapter by chapter. It’s currently February 9th, 2024. 3 days ago I was banned from Twitter after a multi-week battle with a network of highly organized and insidious trolls. I didn’t start the conflict. I was trying to do a good thing and had my heart in the right place. I used every strategy and tactic I knew. I won every fight I got in. But I lost the war. I made a few costly mistakes which I only realized once it was too late and was deplatformed as a result. This is my tale.

Approximately 3 weeks ago I tried telling my story to the wrong group of people. I’m from BC, Canada and I used to know 2 women who were the victims of a serial killer. His name is Robert Pickton. Their names were Karen and Julie and they were sex workers. I met them when I was 15 in 1997. They were murdered some time around 2002. I found out in 2012.

I randomly encountered a user on twitter named Satanic Barbie. She was telling a story about an argument she was having with someone about sexual assault statistics and how male perpetrators were more common than female. She was saying that people shouldn’t believe anecdotes. I told her about the 2 victims I knew and how Pickton murdered over 60 women. He owned a pig farm with his brother and chopped women up and fed them to his pigs. That’s how he disposed of the bodies. I told her that years before they were killed, a woman escaped his farm still in handcuffs and ran screaming down the street. She was eventually picked up by police in hysterics and they didn’t believe a word she said. They threw her in the psych ward and never investigated. She ultimately disappeared, and he went on to kill dozens more women including my friends.

Satanic Barbie just replied “ACAB”. That stands for "All Cops Are Bastards." I told her my point is people should listen to anecdotes, that all cops being bastards is itself an anecdote, and she told me it wasn’t what she was talking about. Believing she was a leftist, I replied that not believing victims is what a Trump supporter would do as they disregarded his victims. She replied that she loved Trump, and based on her behavior I believed her for a short amount of time. Our argument got heated, and she laughed at me and my dead friends and started blasting me with dozens of pro-Trump memes. She then muted me and that’s when the hounds showed up.

Suddenly I was being flooded with dozens of notifications from other users. Dozens of users were being directed towards me by an algorithm. They were all attacking me because they all thought I attacked their friend. They started by calling me names, then refusing to listen to anything I said no matter how I said it. Then they told me I was angry, and then they told me I was crazy. They went through every personal attack you could think of. Then they claimed they were the real victims of my attack. I pointed out that they were attacking me as a group, and they lied about being a group. They both admitted to being friends and lied about knowing each other at the same time. They said our conversation didn’t happen, that I attacked her first, and refused to look at the start of the argument. People just kept coming in the more I defended myself.

This continued for 7 hours. I refused to give up or back down while Satanic Barbie laughed at the chaos she caused the whole time while still muting me. I eventually convinced the crowd that I wanted to talk to her directly. While they kept on screaming at me, I managed to get Barbie to talk to me directly and ignored the others. I asked her why she wasn’t telling the truth to her friends, and she lied. I told her she was lying, and she lied about lying. I kept pointing out the lies, and she just kept to her story. Eventually I got each and every one of them to stop instigating but they never admitted fault or that I ever had a point. To them I was a horrible person, and to me they were the most toxic group of trolls I’d ever encountered, and I’ve met some terrible people on Twitter.

This is the part where a normal person would have given up, but I consider myself to be what’s known as a white hat troll. I much prefer to have friendly conversations but if someone tries to troll me, I’ll troll them right back. I also mess with fascists and Nazis on twitter, and even the Nazis I’ve encountered were less insane than what I just dealt with. From that moment on I treated them like an enemy organization, and began doing what I normally do to Nazis. I followed the main offenders, scanned their social media accounts to figure out how they ticked, and began building my counterattack strategy.

I noticed that I wasn’t their only target. They operated like a pack and looked for people on their own and started doing what they did to me. I realized it wasn’t all a big misunderstanding. It was deliberate. They knew exactly what they were doing and this was why they were so good at it. I realized the whole point was they wanted to make people either abandon social media, or have a psychotic break.

I started getting ahead of them and when they found a target, I’d warn the new victim. I let them know about their patterns and that it wasn’t a normal group they were dealing with. The more I did this, the more people got involved. I eventually uncovered 3 distinct networks of trolls, each only slightly connected to the others, but they all used the same methods. They all engaged in the same pattern. This pattern is not something they randomly stumbled upon, although I was never able to figure out who knew where they got it from and who didn't. I assume most except for a select few have no idea what they're doing.

The government controlling everything is totalitarianism or authoritarianism. That means ruled by a dictator. Fascism is an offshoot of that. Fascism is based on ultranationalism, so being super patriotic. It's also orthodox, so bigotry and no original thought or being different than what's acceptable. No opposition so you can't vote for anyone other than who they approve of. A natural hierarchy, so what you're allowed to do is based on your status. And a strong emphasis on military.

Both the far left and far right have basically become all those things and accuse the other side of being everything that's wrong with society. A friend of mine said "A sure fire way to find an extremist is to ask them what they think of centrists. "Someone I can compromise with" is a rational thought for someone left of centre AND someone right of centre, an extremist views them as the enemy as well. Extremists don't want a compromise, they want to carve out an island for themselves and people just like them, they want to live in a dictatorship run by them, not a democracy." Even if you're moderate, it's not left wing enough for many on the far left, and it's not right enough for many on the far right. They both subscribe to a concept called 'The Paradox of Tolerance' which basically states if a tolerant society allows room for an intolerant group then soon the tolerant will become extinct, which means the tolerant must not tolerate intolerance. However, what happens when the intolerant learn about the Paradox of Tolerance?

This is what happens.

Fascists have an 8 part attack pattern that they use on anyone that they target, which is basically anyone who tries to express an opinion they don't support, or even if you do support them but they want to boost their popularity. I experienced and learned their pattern so I could show their enemies, and now I share that pattern with anyone who wants to learn it so they can defend against it, not so that they use it themselves.

1. Nitpick. They start their attack by finding an isolated target. They then either nitpick an irrelevant detail, point out a typo, tell you that you don't understand something, intentionally misunderstand, deliberately take a joke or metaphor literally, ignore context or subtext, or just start outright lying or say you're lying. Anything other than what you were trying to talk about.

2. Gaslight. If you ignore them, they'll start looking for another target which they're constantly doing. If you don't ignore them then they'll say you're wrong. You don't know what you're talking about. You never did what you say you did. You don't know what the words you use mean. You don't make sense, you're upset and you're crazy.

3. Ad hominem. They'll engage in personal attacks if they think it's going well and ignore what you're saying if it's not going well. To be clear, personal attacks are to psychologically weaken their opponents while ad hominem is about deflecting and not engaging with the actual discussion. If you point out their behavior they'll accuse you of commiting ad hominem even when their behavior is the problem at hand. Since you're crazy or stupid or you insulted me then I don't have to listen to you or accept anything you say.

4. Weaponized incompetence. You used a word and now you need to tell me what that word means. You stated a fact and now you have to prove to me that the fact is true. I keep asking you questions and won't answer yours. I'll never accept that you made a point and just keep wasting time. It doesn't matter if you answer every question and I haven't answered a single one of yours because I'll just claim the opposite.

5. DARVO. That stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. I've been calling you names, but you were attacking me. I didn't start it, you did. I'm only defending myself, even though I targeted you. If you mention that this is what they're doing then they'll accuse you of commiting DARVO, also known as Reverse Uno DARVO, or the 'No U defense'.

6. Toxic Positivity. If you have managed to make it this far with them they'll start to virtue signal and try and gain moral high ground. I'm only doing this because I care. You need help. If you didn't keep defending yourself I wouldn't have to treat you this way. I'm just concerned for your mental health and you're not making sense. They'll only do this if you've managed to make sense the whole time, otherwise they'd just start outright mocking you for being crazy.This is an advanced stage.

7. Semantic collapse. Few ever get to this stage. If they're still keeping up this tells you that they've done this hundreds of times before to hundreds of people. This is where they start to claim that you're manipulating people but also bad at manipulating people at the same time. You lie but I still take everything you say literally. You're certifiably insane at this point according to my expert opinion despite me knowing nothing about psychology but I also know everything about psychology, but no I can't describe anything. The fact you need therapy is both a good thing because therapy is good but also a bad thing because you're flawed and horrible. Nothing you say makes sense no matter how much sense you make, and you're the one who is confused because I can't understand you and I am very confused but also not confused. Everything gets Orwellian.

8. Character assassination. The final stage is when you become their true nemesis. You've just made a mortal enemy and they'll never forget or forgive you for allowing it to get to this point by not running away from their attack. I begin spiralling at this point trying to make you the villain while refusing to stop engaging in my villainous behavior. If I have the ability to mobilize a network I will do literally everything to destroy you. I'll spread baseless rumours, go through your history looking for personal details and take any flaw or anything that can be taken out of context that I can find and spread it around, try to isolate you from any friends you have and undermine your support network. I'll threaten or try to dox you, attempt to get your account suspended, invent sinister motives, and use you to propel myself as a hero to a large audience. You're evil. Everything you do makes you a horrible person. Decent people like me need to get people like you locked up. If I find out where you live I'm going to sue you for defamation or get you arrested or SWATTED.

They'll pretty much do anything they can to go after people. They've driven people to suicide, made them freak out and go on rampages, given people PTSD, made them quit social media and gotten people fired or kicked out of their homes or even move to a new country to get away from people.
